Dr. Hyer is a nationally known foot and ankle expert and he’s right here in Central Ohio. He has authored over 125 scholarly articles in leading foot and ankle journals as well as several textbooks on everything from special bunion correction surgery to complex Charcot joint reconstructions.
In addition to training residents and fellows in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Hyer actively educates surgeons from around the world each year. In fact, Dr. Hyer is THE foot and ankle surgeon to other surgeons and their families. Dr. Hyer and his team pioneer new techniques and research, working to solve some of medicine’s toughest challenges, including cartilage and stem cell research and developing ankle joint replacement devices....
In addition to his surgical residency training, Dr. Hyer completed an extensive 2 year foot and ankle surgical fellowship right here at OFAC. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and has served on several committees and is a past member of the Board of Directors. He is double board certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Ankle and Hindfoot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
