James Johnson, DPM
As a podiatrist at NYU Langone, I specialize in treating people who have lower extremity ulcerations and infections. These conditions are often complicated by diabetes, kidney disease, peripheral arterial disease, or a foot deformity. If a patient requires surgery, I have expertise in performing reconstructive foot procedures, such as tendon balancing, bone fusions, osteotomies, and functional amputations.
I also provide quality care for people with general podiatric problems, such as ingrown nails, plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer toes, flat feet, fractures, and ankle sprains. For these patients, I always explore nonsurgical care before proceeding with any type of surgical treatment.

My clinical interests include decreasing hospital readmissions for people who have foot infections, Charcot foot deformity, critical limb ischemia, and clinical predictors of osteomyelitis.
I am passionate about providing high-quality care that helps decrease pain, restore function, and contribute to a better quality of life.
