Jordan Mechell, DPM
Dr. R. Jordan Mechell was born and raised in a small town near Corpus Christi, Texas. At a very young age, he found himself fascinated with science and medicine and had a dream of becoming a doctor. After graduating early from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a degree in biology with a pre-med concentration, he relocated to San Antonio to join Diabetes and Glandular Research division and become a sub-clinical research coordinator in which he assisted in several phase 1 and 2 clinical trials to advance the medical management and understanding of diabetes. Dr. Mechell then completed his residency at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital/University of Illinois in Chicago, where he served as Chief Podiatric Resident. While in residency, he performed many forefoot and complex rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgeries allowing him to receiving rigorous training in both internal and external (Ilizarov technique) fixation techniques as well as several muscle advancement surgeries. He published several podiatric related journal articles and research displays. Additionally, as a requirement of some of his faculty surgeons he took part in many rigorous hands on conferences catered to limb deformity correction surgeries.
Returning to his home state of Texas, it is his personal goal to help every patient take a better, healthier step by developing a tailored treatment plan based on the patient’s individual needs and understands the importance of educating his patients on their ailments. Dr. Mechell treats foot and ankle ailments, including heel pain, ingrown toenails, sports related injuries, bunions and hammertoes, trauma, diabetic wounds, flatfoot and ankle deformities with surgical and non-surgical methods. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, listening and discovering new music as well as spending time with his two French Bulldogs.
