Leonard Talarico, DPM
Dr. Talarico, one of nine children, was raised in Rochester, NY. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Marketing.
A competitive cyclist during college, upon his graduation from R.I.T., Dr. Talarico raced his bicycle at the semi-professional level both in Italy and the United States. An injury led him to change careers and to Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, where he received his degree as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1999.
He completed his surgical residency in Buffalo, NY at Sheehan Memorial Hospital and the VA Medical Center. This was followed with a fellowship in Kurgan, Russia at the Russian Ilizarov ...
He has been a participant at the annual Limb Deformity Course at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, MD. In addition, he has authored several articles on the use of external fixation for the foot and leg. He has also completed additional training at the Dellon Institute for Peripheral Nerve Surgery® and has achieved the status of Fellow in the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons , a multi-specialty international organization dedicated to the study of peripheral nerve syndromes. He has been certified in the Dellon-Technique of Peripheral Neurolysis ; a procedure with particular benefits to those with peripheral neuropathy or chronic pain due to a nerve injury or nerve compression syndrome , including chronic heel pain .
His personal interests include cycling, golf and travel.
