Dr. Hunziker is a foot and ankle surgeon and native of Iowa. His clinic is based in Waukee and he provides foot care to the entire Des Moines area. He attended The University of Iowa in Iowa City where he received his undergraduate bachelor’s degree. He then attended medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines where he obtained his doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Hunziker then completed a three-year surgical residency focusing on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA where he had extensive foot and ankle surgical training and was the chief resident during his final year. Dr. Hunziker is a member of the Iowa Board of Podiatry and he is a member of the Iowa Podiatric Medical Society, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Hunziker specializes in inpatient and outpatient foot and ankle surgical and clinical management, adult and pediatric foot and ankle reconstruction, bunion surgery, heel pain, arthroscopy, toenail procedures and management, infection management, flatfoot reconstruction, forefoot deformity correction, foot and ankle fracture/trauma management, external fixation, and diabetic wound management.
