Dr. Ein (Einul Chowdhury) is a board qualified, surgically trained foot & ankle specialist. He has extensive training and experience in conservative care, minimally invasive surgery, trauma, and reconstructive surgery of the lower extremity. His expertise includes sports medicine, lower extremity injuries, wound care, Achilles tendon pathology, diabetic foot, charcot deformity, bunion deformities, and functional orthotics. Dr. Ein completed a comprehensive 3-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in conjunction with various New York Health and Hospital locations (including Metropolitan Hospital Center, Queens Hospital Center, Harlem Hospital Centers, and Lincoln Medical Center; the latter being level 1 trauma centers) The institutions are also affiliates of Columbia Medical Center as well as Columbia Medical College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mount Sinai Medical Center (Health Network)/Mt. Sinai Icahn School of Medicine. Throughout the course of his residency training, Dr. Ein supervised and trained 6 other residents along with multiple classes of medical and podiatry students. He has also lead medical teams of residents and students to assist the communities that he served by increasing awareness of lower extremity pathology and cultivating healthier habits. Dr. Ein has published scientific papers on his techniques and outcomes. He serves as clinical faculty in the department of surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where he is extensively involved in the education and training of students and residents. In his free time, he is an avid lover of travel and sports including basketball, surfing, scuba diving, soccer and snowboarding, which helps fuel his passion for sports medicine and treating lower extremity injury/trauma.
