Lyle Haskell, DPM

Dr. Lyle Haskell is a North Texas based Foot and Ankle Surgeon whose office is on the campus of Texas Health Resources – Presbyterian Hospital in Allen, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his Doctorate from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. During the past 25 years, he has had the pleasure and privilege to provide care to over 28,000 patients.

Dr. Haskell received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology / Kinesiology at UCLA. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, San Francisco, California and completed his clinical rotations at Cedars Sinai Hospital, Beverly Hills, Veterans Administration Hospital Loma Linda and Los Angeles County Hospital / USC Medical Center.

Having additional training in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, he helped assist Dr. Ronald Scott in forming and providing care at the first ever Wound Care Clinic at Presbyterian Hospital Plano in 1993. Dr. Haskell continues to be a consultant for the Wound Care Clinic at THR-Presbyterian Hospital Allen where he draws upon his comprehensive knowledge of orthopedic reconstruction, biologics and regenerative medicine, negative pressure wound dressings and skin grafts.

While Stem Cell Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma, Extracellular Matrices, Growth Factor Proteins and Regenerative Medicine are all areas of current heightened interest in the medical field, Dr. Haskell has been investigating and utilizing these products in patients with great success for the treatment of painful Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis and Ankle Joint Arthritis for more than a decade.

He began utilizing patient derived Growth Factor Proteins in his initial work on diabetic wounds in 1993. Work with Extracellular Matrices for use in wounds and the regeneration of joint and soft tissue pathology followed in 1999 with an agreement with ACell. Initial work with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for the treatment of plantar fasciitis began with a collaboration with Arthrex Corporation in 2004. Subsequent work beginning in 2006 with Biomet GPS, Arteriocyte Magellan, Integra and Harvest Technologies led to further specialization in the use of Acellular Matrices, Growth Factor Proteins, Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell therapies. No physician treating Foot and Ankle disorders in Texas likely has more experience in these technologies than Dr. Haskell.

Dr. Haskell has volunteered his services and expertise for Buckner International Children’s Orphanage Relief in Lima and Cusco, Peru, The Collin County Free Adult Clinic, Allen High School Football Team and he is a Boy Scout merit badge counselor in First Aid and Wilderness Survival. He has mentored and provided clinical observation opportunities to Pre-Med students from Allen High School, Jesuit High School, Dallas, Collin County Community College and Baylor University.  He has served as a consultant to The Michael Johnson Performance Center and in that capacity, has had the honor to provide foot and ankle care to a number of Olympic Athletes from the United States, The Netherlands and South Africa. He has served as a foot and ankle referral specialist to the medical staff at The Cooper Clinic in Dallas and maintains an active focus on advanced Cardiovascular testing as a means to optimize recovery from Foot and Ankle injuries. He has lectured across the United States on a variety of Foot and Ankle Surgical and Medical topics and serves as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) / Expert for a number of orthopedic / medical device manufacturers.
