Dr. Kauwe was born in Hawaii, but raised much of his life in Utah.   He received his bachelors degree in biology at Utah Valley University.  He received his professional degree from the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.  Dr. Kauwe completed a three year surgical residency at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA.   While in school, and as a resident, Dr. Kauwe was involved in researching a new paradigm and approach to bunion surgery.  His and his collaborators work is represented in the philosophy behind the Lapiplasty surgery, correcting bunions in...
