residency, he gained extensive training in upper and lower extremity orthopedic trauma and fracture care at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center in Memphis. He also developed a special interest in sports medicine, joint reconstruction, and treating knee conditions of all ages. His team coverage experience includes assisting the St. Louis Cardinals AAA affiliate Memphis Redbirds baseball team and multiple Memphis area high schools. He currently serves as a team physician for Colleyville Heritage High School.

For additional specialty training, Dr. Mulligan completed an orthopedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. His areas of expertise include conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle sports injuries, arthritis, fracture care, tendon and ligament disorders, deformity correction, painful flat feet and high arches, bunions, hammertoes, and neuromas. His special interests include ankle replacement, minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, and reconstruction of complex fractures and deformities.

Dr. Mulligan is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented research at the national level on the topics of foot and ankle reconstruction and joint replacement.

Dr. Mulligan is married to a primary care physician, and together, they have two young children. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, and following Texas A&M University athletics when he is not seeing patients.
