Ronald D. Troxell, DPM, FACFAS. attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Bachelors of Sciences degree. Here and during the time to follow he participated in research at the medical school in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism studying Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. He co-authored several publications at this time. Ronald received his medical degree just outside of Cleveland, Ohio at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated with honors as part of the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society. Dr. Troxell offers both conservative and surgical management to the lower extremity. He treats all aspects of the foot and ankle, from ingrown toenails and skin lesions to complex fractures and nerve pain. He specializes in Bunions, arthroscopy, trauma, Charcot, total ankle arthroplasty, complex reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and sports medicine.
Dr. Troxell is on staff at Advent Health North Pinellas, St. Anthony’s, Mease Countryside, Mease Dunedin, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, Palms of Pasadena, Largo Medical Center, Northside Hospital, Surgcenter Northeast, Skyway surgery center and Surgcenter Dunedin. In addition, he is a staff physician with the wound care and hyperbaric oxygen center of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Dr. Troxell works with podiatric residents of the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, orthopedic residents of Largo Medical Center, and is a staff physician with the St. Petersburg Innovative Foot & Ankle Surgery Fellowship. This upcoming season he is partnering with the Tampa Bay Cannons, a professional ultimate disc team in St. Petersburg.
